Learning a lot from you Gordo! Thank you very much!

This one is so obvious, yet so difficult.

«What we need to watch is where our desires are taking us. Is this a place we want to go?»

We sacrifice so much for status games.

Great stuff, G!

“We are free to change our approach, at any time”, love that line. The cocktail party idea is brilliant, I’ll definitely give it a go too.

Awesome write-up, and here’s to the next 1,000 days, wherever the road leads!

Thanks as always for the inspiration, the honesty, and for sharing the journey.

Tangent: I also didn’t attend my university graduation - I was busy working at a sparkly new job in a sparkly big firm. In fact, I forgot to send the attestation in for a few years that allowed me receive the actual certificate. But I berate myself now for not going through the ceremony because I recognize now I should have celebrated the other people - family - who were on my journey. It’s my advice to kids moving into college now too - you’re fine but take a pause for Mom and Dad because what’s the start of an adventure for you is the end of a long chapter for them. Make sure you have tissues.

Excellent points. High school graduation was a bit of a mess due to my family situation. I bet that was a factor in my decision. Also put me off holidays until I had my own kids.

Just realised how much I have learned from you over the years (more than 20+ since I read your stuff on Slowtwitch) so I have subscribed to this Substack as a very small way of saying thank you.
