Great post - you articulated much of what I have felt and observed - especially the part about lashing out. Keep channeling your energy into your writing!
This one was great G! Specially with so much information moving around us, hard to cancel the noice and keep the focus on what matter to each of us. Thank you!
E joyed this one....and it left me asking myself wheat I am genuinely qualified to talk about....
One reflection, inspired by the part about when someone enters our domain, whether they understand it...we need to be distinct about whether they are a BS merchant, or simply hold a different opinion/experience/view of that domain than we do...one is fine, and prevents an echo chamber, the other, not so much.
Part of how we figure things out is talking through our experience. With my kids I'm careful not to discourage their desire to figure things out by kicking around ideas.
What I need to watch in myself is trying to keep my mind straight between "figuring it out" and "offering advice"
Is the author taleb? The older I get the less I'm willing to engage on things even where I have a semblance of knowledge. I've stood and watched adults coaching kids in BJJ matches and thought they'd be a purple - black belt only to subsequently see them in a white belt bracket. Five years in and a purple belt and I'm still loathe to comment and I'm not completely incompetent.

Thanks Brendan

He's a smart guy and has made progress in his understanding since I spent a few days with him.
